Process Log #1
The year started off by introducing the Texas Performance Standards Project where the guidelines and expectations were set for the year. I focused on my assignments for the first six weeks, where I researched for my topic, researched my topic, and created an outline for the year based on my topic. Because Cosmetic Marketing is a very niche field, most of my time was spent researching cosmetic businesses in Texas and California in the search for a mentor. While Texas does have opportunities, a vast majority of the industry lies in California. Digital communication through emails may close the divide of distance. My hope is to work with smaller companies based in California as their tactics lean towards the modern shift from classic media to social media, of which greatly intrigues me.
Process Log #2
I emailed representatives from various cosmetic companies, and have been awaiting responses. One company replied with resources from interviews previously conducted that will aid me in my research. Another company's marketing manager announced that their parent brand is looking for influencer marketing specialists, so I contacted the suggested email inquiring for my project. I plan on contacting the CEO of a cosmetics brand based in Houston, Texas to see if she would be interested in serving as my mentor for the Independent Study and Mentorship.
